Ducsu VP race: 3 candidates get just 1 vote each, 23 fail to cross 10-vote mark
A total of 29,259 votes were cast for the VP post in the Ducsu polls

Three candidates for the vice president (VP) post in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) elections have secured only one vote each.
Besides, among the 44 VP contenders, 23 received fewer than 10 votes.
An analysis of the Ducsu polls final results, published this morning (10 September), revealed that VP candidates Md Sujan Hossain, Rakibul Hasan and Rasel Haque each received one vote.

Md Nasim Uddin, Md Sohanur Rahman, and Md Habibullah each received two votes; and Md Mudabbir Rahman, Md Helalur Rahman, and Shah Jamal Sayem each received three votes.
Md Faisal Ahmed received four votes in the polls.
Asif Anwar Antik and Md Ataur Rahman Shipon each secured five votes.
Five candidates — Deen Mohammad Sohag, Md Azgar Bepari, Md Shafi Rahman, Md Ujjwal Hossain, and Mosammat Jannati Bulbul — received six votes each.

Three candidates — Md Abul Hossain, Md Russell Mahmud, and Zayed Bin Iqbal — each bagged seven votes.
Jalal Ahmed and Riaz Uddin Ahmed each secured eight votes, and Mahdi Hasan received nine votes.
In the much-awaited Ducsu polls, held yesterday, Md Abu Shadik Kayem, of the Shibir-backed Oikyoboddho Shikkharthi Jote panel, was elected VP with 14,042 votes, and his nearest contender, Chhatra Dal's Md Abidul Islam Khan, bagged 5,708 votes.
A total of 29,259 votes were cast for the VP post in the Ducsu polls. Only 1,134 votes (4%) went to 39 candidates, while the rest (96%) went to five top contenders.
