BNP stages protest at Nagar Bhaban demanding solution to civic problems in Dhaka South
'Dhaka South has become unlivable due to poor waste management. Garbage piles up beside roads for days, creating unbearable conditions for residents,' said one protester

Leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organisations held a protest rally in front of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) headquarter (Nagar Bhaban), demanding urgent solutions to various civic problems plaguing the city.
The BNP representatives also submitted a memorandum to Dhaka South City authorities, urging immediate and sustainable measures to ensure a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
The programme, organised under the banner "Dhaka-10 constituency BNP, all affiliated bodies, and local public," brought together residents and party supporters who voiced frustration over the city's deteriorating waste management, road conditions, and lack of basic urban services.
The protest was led by the BNP International Affairs Secretary Barrister Nasir Uddin Ahmed Ashim.
He said, "We repeatedly complained about our different problems but the City Corporation didn't solve this. The current administrators are not elected by the people and therefore are not accountable to the people. Therefore, the February elections must be fair to normalise the situation in the country."
Protesters carried placards and banners highlighting issues such as waste mismanagement, overflowing dustbins, and unhygienic conditions in key residential and commercial areas. One banner called for the installation of covered and modern dustbins to keep the city cleaner and more environmentally sustainable.
"Dhaka South has become unlivable due to poor waste management. Garbage piles up beside roads for days, creating unbearable conditions for residents," one protester said during the rally.
