BNP, Jamaat visit Mirpur fire site, demand prompt measures to stop recurrence
After inspecting the fire site, Rizvi demanded immediate action against those responsible for negligence that led to such a tragic incident

A delegation of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) led by its Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi visited the site of the devastating fire at a RMG factory and chemical warehouse at Shialbari in Mirpur.
The BNP delegation visited the place last night, hours after the fire erupted, which has so far claimed 16 lives.
After inspecting the fire site, Rizvi demanded immediate action against those responsible for negligence that led to such a tragic incident.
The senior BNP leader also demanded prompt measures to stop the recurrence of such fire incidents.
Dhaka North City BNP Convener and former national footballer Aminul Haque and leaders of BNP and its affiliated organisations were present at the time.
Additionally, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman visited the RMG factory and chemical warehouse last night as well.
He inspected the affected sites and inquired about the condition of the deceased and injured. He announced a grant of Tk1 lakh for each family of the deceased.
The Jamaat ameer expressed his profound sympathy to the bereaved and injured family members, saying, "It is our human duty to stand by the families affected by this accident."
He was accompanied by Dhaka City North Jamaat Naib-e-Ameer Abdur Rahman Musa, Jamaat-nominated MP candidate from Dhaka-14 constituency Barrister Mir Ahmad Bin Kashem (Arman) and Jamaat-nominated MP candidate from Dhaka-16 constituency Colonel (Retd) Abdul Baten.
Earlier, in a statement, the Jamaat ameer prayed for the forgiveness of the souls of the deceased and expressed his deep condolences to the injured as He called for an impartial investigation to uncover the real cause of the fire and take appropriate action against those responsible and to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
