BNP names 10 women candidates, including Khaleda Zia, for 13th JS polls
Former BNP MP Fazlur Rahman Patal's daughter Farzana Sharmin has been nominated for Natore-1
The Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) has nominated 10 women candidates, including party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, for the upcoming national election.
Khaleda Zia will contest from three constituencies — Dinajpur-3, Bogra-7, and Feni-1.
Farzana Sharmin Putul has been nominated for Natore-1. She serves as joint convener of Natore district BNP and as a special assistant to the Chairperson's Foreign Affairs Advisory Committee.
She is also a member of the Human Rights Committee and the Media Cell Committee, and the daughter of the late Fazlur Rahman Patal, a former state minister and four-time MP from Natore-1.
Other women candidates are Sabira Sultana from Jessore-2, Israt Sultana Elen Bhutto from Jhalokati-2, Sansila Zebrin from Sherpur-1, Afroza Khan Rita from Manikganj-3, Sanjida Islam Tuli from Dhaka-14, Shama Obaed from Faridpur-2, Chowdhury Nayab Yusuf, joint general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal, from Faridpur-3 constituency and Tahsina Rushdir from Sylhet-2.
