BNP fields 2 new faces, retains 4 former candidates in Rajshahi
From Rajshahi‑1 (Godagari–Tanore) constituency, Major General (Retd) Sharif Uddin has received the nomination for the first time
The BNP has nominated two fresh faces in Rajshahi for the upcoming national polls, while its candidates in the remaining four constituencies are leaders who have previously contested on the party's ticket.
From Rajshahi‑1 (Godagari–Tanore) constituency, Major General (Retd) Sharif Uddin has received the nomination for the first time. He is the younger brother of Barrister Aminul Haque, former BNP minister for posts and telecommunications.
BNP Chairperson's Adviser Mizanur Rahman Minu, also former MP and former mayor, has been nominated for Rajshahi‑2 (Sadar) constituency.
From Rajshahi‑3 (Paba–Mohonpur), the party picked Advocate Shafiqul Haque Milon, National Executive Committee Assistant Secretary for Relief and Rehabilitation Affairs and former General Secretary of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP.
Bagmara Upazila BNP Convener DMD Ziaur Rahman has been nominated for Rajshahi‑4 (Bagmara) constituency. Earlier, he was elected to the Upazila Parishad from this upazila with a BNP nomination.
From Rajshahi‑5 (Puthia–Durgapur) constituency, the party nominated Professor Nazrul Islam, member of District BNP. He previously contested with BNP nominations in 2008 and 2018.
From Rajshahi‑6 (Charghat–Bagha) constituency, the nomination has gone to former Convener of the recently dissolved BNP District Committee Abu Sayeed Chand. He had also received the BNP nomination in 2018.
