Banned Chhatra League stages flash procession in Chattogram at dawn
The group gathered in front of the Golam Rasul Market shortly after sunrise and moved towards the Nandan Kanan area
Activists of banned Chhatra League staged a surprise dawn procession in Chattogram's Tinpuler Matha intersection today (26 November).
According to locals, the group gathered in front of the Golam Rasul Market shortly after sunrise and moved towards the Nandan Kanan area. Witnesses said the march was led by activists linked to the banned organisation.
A one-minute twenty-two-second video of the procession has since circulated on social media. It shows participants chanting slogans against Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus as they moved through the area.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Karim said they received information about the march early in the morning. "We were informed that a flash procession was brought out by the banned Chhatra League group near the Tinpuler Matha intersection. We are working to identify them. Police are already on the ground to make arrests," he said.
Police had yet to confirm the identities of the organisers as of filing this report.
