AL linked to every disaster, destruction of democracy in Bangladesh: Salahuddin
“Many people also say that the Awami League and Sheikh Hasina were indirectly involved in the assassination of Ziaur Rahman,” he says
The Awami League has been involved in every disaster, destruction of democracy, and national crisis in Bangladesh's history, BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed has alleged.
"Many people also say that the Awami League and Sheikh Hasina were indirectly involved in the assassination of Ziaur Rahman," he said at a discussion meeting marking the historic National Revolution and Solidarity Day at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre today (12 November).
Salahuddin added, "All democratic and constitutional reforms, prosperity, and development in Bangladesh have been achieved under the leadership of Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda Zia, and most recently through the movement to oust fascism led by Tarique Rahman."
BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman attended virtually as the chief guest and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir chaired the meeting.
