After Jamaat, IAB, Khelafat, now Jagpa announces demos on 18, 19, 26 Sept over same demands
Yesterday, Jamaat and Islami Andolan Bangladesh announced they will hold rallies and marches on 18, 19 and 26 September.

The Jatiya Ganotantrik Party (Jagpa) has announced three days of demonstration programmes to drive home seven demands, including a general election based on the July National Charter, following a similar announcement by the Jamaat-e-Islami and its like-minded parties.
Jagpa's programmes involve a march in Dhaka on 18 September, mass outreach in divisional cities on 19 September and marches in organisational districts on 26 September, Jagpa Vice-President Rashed Prodhan announced at a press conference at the party's Purana Paltan office in Dhaka today (16 September).
The seven demands include legal basis for the July Charter and national polls under its framework; bringing Sheikh Hasina back from India and making her stand trial; visible progress in trials over all mass killings, oppression, torture and corruption committed under the Awami League regime; and disclosing and cancelling all secret and unequal agreements made with India during the Awami League era.
Rashed said the party also demands a ban on the activities of Jatiyo Party and others allied with the Awami League in the 14-Party Alliance; elections under the proportional representation system in both houses, including a proposed upper house; and a level playing field and conducting national elections free from Indian influence.
The Jagpa leader said the people's expectations from the interim government were justice, reform and polls.
"But we do not see visible progress in ensuring justice, genuine reforms appear obstructed, and we are seeing preparations and a roadmap for a thrown-together national election," he remarked.
Rashed added that the July Uprising was not just against Hasina or her Awami League party but also against Indian hegemony and aggression.
He told the media that the interim government has not taken strong steps to free the country's administrative structure from Indian-Awami influence, nor has it played a strong role in bringing back Hasina from New Delhi.
Yesterday, Jamaat said it will hold rallies and marches in Dhaka on 18 September and in other divisional cities on 19 September, to press for five demands, mostly similar to Jagpa's. Besides, on 26 September, it will hold similar rallies and marches at the district and upazila levels.
Islami Andolan Bangladesh also announced similar programmes on the same dates, to press for the same demands.
A day earlier, Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis announced three days of programmes to press home its five demands.
