An auto-rickshaw hit his bike on the Banshtali-Kaliakair road, leaving him injured critically

Police constable killed in Gazipur road accident

A police constable has been killed after an auto-rickshaw hits his motorcycle in Kaliakair area of Gazipur on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Rubel Hossain, son of Siddiqur Rahman of Sinabah Khandaker Para of Kaliakair. He was attached to Rajabagh Police Lines in Dhaka.

Officer-in-charge of Kaliakair Police Station Monowar Hossain said the accident took place around 12:30 pm when Rubel was heading towards Kaliakair from his home on the motorbike.

An auto-rickshaw hit his bike on the Banshtali-Kaliakair road, leaving him injured critically. 

Being rescued by locals, he was rushed to Gazipur Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Specialized Hospital, but doctors declared him dead, the OC added. 

The body was sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
