Passenger held with 400 grams gold at Ctg airport

National Security Intelligence (NSI) members arrested a passenger of a BIman flight with 400 grams of gold at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram today (12 March).
The arrestee is Shahin Al Mamun.
Engineer Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer of the airport, said the arrestee came from Saudi Arabia's Jeddah by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight.
Being tipped-off, the NSI members intercepted him while he was coming out through the Gate No-3 of the airport and searched him, he said.
Several gold bars worth Tk50 lakh were recovered from his handbag and pant pockets.
The gold was handed over to the airport customs, and the arrestee was being interrogated, he said.
