Over 30 lakh taxpayers file returns online so far: NBR
The NBR expects that at least another 10 lakh returns will be submitted as the deadline for filing returns is extended until 31 January.
More than 30 lakh taxpayers have so far submitted their tax returns online, according to the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
In a press release issued today (30 December), the NBR also stated that a total of 45 lakh TIN holders have registered on the e-return system to submit their returns.
The NBR expects that at least another 10 lakh returns will be submitted as the deadline for filing returns is extended until 31 January.
This year, online income tax return submission is mandatory for all taxpayers except those aged 65 or above, physically challenged or specially abled individuals, Bangladeshi taxpayers living abroad, legal representatives of deceased taxpayers, and foreign nationals working in Bangladesh.
The NBR has set up a call centre to assist taxpayers with e-return issues, offering immediate support from a phone call, while written complaints can also be submitted through the eTax Service option on the website www.etaxnbr.gov.bd.
