Pretoria mission organises doa mahfil in memory of Khaleda Zia
The Bangladesh High Commission in Pretoria organised a Holy Quran recitation, Khatam-e-Quran and Dua Mahfil at the Chancery on 2 January 2026, seeking eternal peace and forgiveness for the departed soul of Begum Khaleda Zia, three-time former prime minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
A significant number of members of the Bangladeshi expatriate community, including journalists, businesspeople and professionals, attended the programme. Following the Asr prayer, a special dua was offered seeking forgiveness for the departed soul and peace and prosperity for Bangladesh.
On the occasion, a Condolence Book was opened at the High Commission for signing by members of the Diplomatic Corps. The book will remain open on 5 and 6 January 2026, from 9:00am – 4:00pm.
