Nalchity mourns former assistant head teacher Abdur Rahman
Abdur Rahman, former assistant headteacher at Government Nalchity Merchants Secondary School, passed away yesterday at approximately 2:30pm (Bangladesh time) while receiving treatment at a hospital in the United States.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. He had long suffered from diabetes, kidney complications and age-related illnesses. He was 84.
He is survived by his wife, one son, three daughters, and numerous well-wishers. Family sources said arrangements are under way to bring his body back to Bangladesh.
A pall of grief has descended on Nalchity following the death of the respected teacher.
Leaders of the Secondary and Primary Teachers' Associations have expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
