Masudur Rahman, president of the Canada Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CanCham Bangladesh), passed away on 5 March 2025.
Rahman was the founding president of CanCham Bangladesh, established in 2005, and was re-elected to the position multiple times.
He played a pivotal role in strengthening and expanding Canada-Bangladesh bilateral trade and economic relations, according to a statement from CanCham Bangladesh.

He was also the Managing Director of Crane Ltd and Chairman of Asia Securities Ltd.
In a statement, CanCham Bangladesh expressed deep sorrow over his demise, stating, "The void so created in CanCham Bangladesh will never be filled."
The organisation also extended prayers for the departed soul and for his family, seeking strength for them to bear the irreparable loss.
