BGMEA leaders pay tribute to Khaleda Zia at her grave
The Board of Directors of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) paid tribute by visiting the grave of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia, on Friday.
Led by BGMEA President, Mahmud Hasan Khan, the delegation visited the grave at Zia Udyan in the capital in the morning, where they placed wreaths and offered prayers, seeking eternal peace for the departed soul.
After the tribute, a doa and munajat were held for the forgiveness of Begum Khaleda Zia.
BGMEA Senior Vice-President, Inamul Haque Khan; Vice-Presidents, Vidya Amrit Khan and Md Shihab Uddoza Chowdhury; and Directors, Shah Raid Chowdhury, Faisal Samad, Nafis-ud-Doula, Majumdar Arifur Rahman, Kazi Mizanur Rahman, Dr Rashid Ahmed Hossaini, and Sakif Ahmed Salam, among others, were present.
Speaking to the media after the visit, BGMEA President, Mahmud Hasan Khan, stated, "Begum Khaleda Zia was an uncompromising leader of democracy, and her contribution to the development of the country's garment industry is undeniable. At this time of national mourning, we express our deepest condolences to her bereaved family and pray that Allah grants her Jannatul Ferdous."
Following the prayers, BGMEA leaders observed a brief moment of silence in remembrance of the late leader.
