Actor Iresh Zaker was named as an accused alongside deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 406 others in a murder case filed over the death of one Srabon during last year's mass uprising

Mostafizur Rahman Bappi, brother of Mahfuz Alam Srabon, who died during the July uprising, filed a case with a Dhaka court naming actor Iresh Zaker alongside deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 406 others on 20 April, nine months after his brother's death.
Explaining how he named the accused, Bappi said, "After my brother's death, I collected some information from various newspapers. Some information and names were gathered by the police and advocates. Since I was not present at the court, it is difficult to say who exactly was involved and how certain names came up in the case."
When asked about the involvement of actor Iresh Zaker, who was among the 406 accused, Bappi said, "How can I possibly know everyone, brother? The incident happened in Dhaka, and I live in Naogaon."
He further explained, "The police, taking responsibility, added the names of those whose involvement they found. The advocates also added some names. I, too, provided some information based on newspapers, focusing on those affiliated with the Awami League.
"It is not possible for a single person to file such a case alone. If it were just me, I would have named 5-10 people, maybe 20 or 50," he added.
When asked why the case was filed almost nine months after the incident, Bappi said, "It took time to collect different pieces of information."
Regarding his profession, Bappi said he runs a small-scale rice business.
Asked about any political involvement, he replied, "No, I am not involved in politics."

The Asiatic MCL is the flagship company of Asiatic 3Sixty.
Iresh Zaker is the managing director of the company and his mother, Sara Zaker, is the chairperson.
His naming in the arrest sparked an uproar on social media.
The case also named over 400 others, including deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, including former politicians, police officials, celebrities, business persons and celebrities.
