Actor Iresh Zaker has been named as an accused alongside deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 406 others in a murder case filed over the death of one Srabon during last year's mass uprising.

Mostafizur Rahman Bappi, brother of Srabon, filed the case with Mirpur Model Police Station on 20 April, nine months after the death of the victim, said Rajib Hossain, inspector of the police station today (27 April), reports UNB.

Sraban, son of Mosharraf Hossain of Naogaon district, was shot to death during the July-August movement in Mirpur on 5 August last year.

On 25 April, the Central Intelligence Cell (CIC) of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) froze all bank accounts of Asiatic Marketing Communications Ltd (Asiatic MCL) on tax-evasion charges.

The Asiatic MCL is the flagship company of Asiatic 3Sixty.

Iresh Zaker is the managing director of the company and his mother, Sara Zaker, is the chairperson.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader, former home minister Asaduzzaman, former state minister for power, energy and mineral resources Nasrul Hamid, Salman F Rahman, former prime minister Sheikh Hasina's adviser, former foreign minister and Awami League joint general secretary Hasan Mahmud, former inspector general of police, former home secretary, former police commissioner of Dhaka and a number of police officials, leaders of Awami League, Jubo League, banned Chhatra League and media persons including Asaduzzaman Nur were among the accused.

Since her ouster, Hasina has been accused in at least 580 cases all around the country. The charges include murder, attempted murder, mass killings, genocide, and crimes against humanity.
