Throat-slit body of NGO worker found in Narayanganj

An NGO worker was murdered by slitting his throat in Narayanganj.
The incident took place on Monday night around 9:30pm. The victim, identified as Utpal Roy, 62, lived in a Shankar Saha's house in the Sahapara area.
His son, Ujjal Kumar Roy, reported that a housemaid had visited their house that evening and left at around 9pm. Upon returning home at 9:30pm, he found the door locked from the inside. Breaking the lock, he discovered his father lying in a pool of blood on the floor. He immediately informed the police.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nasir Uddin of Narayanganj Sadar Model police station confirmed that the body had been sent to Narayanganj Victoria General Hospital for an autopsy. Authorities are investigating the murder to identify those responsible, he added.
