A new cryptocurrency scam uses the image of Finance Adviser Salehuddin's image and a faked newspaper website to lure victims into the phishing scam.

The scam is originating on Facebook, where posts appear saying that Salehuddin was exposed.

Some posts claim the expose was done during an interview with one "Peyush Bansa".

It is noted that Peyush Bansal is an Indian entrepreneur and angel investor, however, the fake profile has a misspelling on the link.

Clicking the posts, which claim to have a link from bdnews24, takes users to a website under denver-roofing.com.

Here, a faked version of the bdnews24.com is shown.

This is not the first time such a scam has been used.

Earlier, other notable names were also used to lure in victims.

Each of the links within the fake pages redirects users to another, where you can sign up.

It promises Tk95,000 to Tk2,15,000 per day.

There's a ticker on top which shows how many spots are remaining, and it keeps decreasing to instil a sense of urgency and high demand.

If you fill in your information, the phishing scam begins.

Phishing is a type of online scam that targets consumers by sending them an e-mail that appears to be from a well-known source – an internet service provider, a bank, or a mortgage company, for example. It asks the consumer to provide personal identifying information.
