NCP gifts sacrificial goats to 21 July uprising martyrs' families in Narayanganj

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has gifted sacrificial animals to 21 families of those martyred in the 2024 July uprising in Narayanganj.
This afternoon (6 June), local NCP leaders personally met and gifted a goat to each of the families, across five upazilas of the district.
Regarding the initiative, NCP's Joint Secretary and Narayanganj chief coordinator Abdullah Al Amin said, "We will offer 'qurbani' in the names of 21 martyrs using funds from our members. As part of that, we are delivering the animals as gifts to their families.
"We believe that martyrs are our source of inspiration. The more we remember them, the more the country stays on the right path."
The relatives of the martyrs, in turn, expressed their gratitude to the NCP leaders for remembering them.
Humayun Kabir, father of martyr Ahsanul Kabir, recounted that his son had just completed his master's degree from Dhaka University. On the day of the incident, there was a procession near the highway.
"When shots were fired from a helicopter, everyone else moved away, but Ahsan didn't. He was died after being shot in the chest. The NCP members remembered me and came here. This is something I will never forget."
Abul Kalam, father of martyr Adil, said,
"My son was killed by police gunfire on the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on 19 July last year. NCP's initiative to remember the martyrs is praiseworthy.
"These martyrs joined the movement with dreams. Our expectation is that those dreams will be fulfilled through continued efforts," he added.
