Metro train movement halts for 9 minutes as drone falls on rail track

Train movement on the metro rail line was briefly suspended tonight (22 October) after a drone was found lying on the tracks.
According to authorities, metro rail operations were halted from 8:47pm to 8:56pm.
Dhaka Metro Rail Deputy Project Director (Public Relations) Md Ahsan Ullah Sharifi said, "The drone was found on a section of the track between Uttara Center and Uttara South stations. It caused temporary disruption to rail movement."
"After keeping operations suspended for at least nine minutes, the drone was removed and train movement resumed normally," he added.
However, he could not provide details on who owned the drone or where it had been flown from.
The metro rail authorities apologised to passengers for the temporary inconvenience.
