Metro rail services resume across entire route
Yesterday, Dhaka metro rail services were partially suspended due to a technical issue, days after a fatal bearing pad accident had caused a suspension of train operations.
Metro rail services resumed this morning (30 October) on all sections after movement was halted on the Agargaon-Shahbagh section last night, according to media reports.
Yesterday, Dhaka metro rail services were again partially suspended due to a technical issue, days after a fatal bearing pad accident had caused a suspension of train operations.
At around 9pm yesterday, train operations between Agargaon and Shahbagh stations were halted following a mechanical malfunction, officials said.
On Sunday, a bearing pad on a pillar on the west side of the Farmgate station came loose and fell to the ground, killing a man named Abul Kalam.
Following the accident, metro rail operations were suspended.
Train operations from Uttara to Agargaon resumed at about 3pm and from Motijheel to Shahbagh at around 7:15pm.
After reinstalling the bearing pad, full metro rail services resumed across the entire route at around 11am on Monday (27 October).
