Metro rail resumes operation after Eid break; carrying meat not allowed
To enforce the restriction, security checks will be conducted at the entrance of every metro station. Passengers found carrying meat products will be denied entry

After a one-day suspension for the Eid-ul-Adha holiday, Dhaka's metro rail resumed operations at 8:30am this morning (8 June).
However, authorities have issued a directive prohibiting passengers from carrying any form of meat — raw or cooked — with them while traveling on the metro rail.
In an official statement, Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) announced that passengers will not be allowed to travel with raw or cooked meat or animal hides on the metro rail.
To enforce the restriction, security checks will be conducted at the entrance of every metro station. Passengers found carrying meat products will be denied entry.
Additionally, DMTCL said the metro rail will operate following the timetable for public holidays from tomorrow (9 June).
