Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places north, central and north eastern divisions and at a many places over three southern divisions including the Dhaka divisions.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds is likely to occur at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Rajshahi and Mymensingh divisions," said a met office forecast for the next 24 hours begins from 9am today.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The low pressure area over South Bihar and adjoining area now lies over Bihar and adjoining area. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, center of the low, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs extends up to North Bay. Monsoon is active over Northern part and fairly active elsewhere over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded by 34.0 degree Celsius at Sitakunda and minimum temperature today was recorded by 23.6 degree Celsius at Bandarban district.

Country's maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded by 157 millimeters (mm) at Netrokona.

The sun sets at 05:56pm today and rises at 05:47am tomorrow in the capital.
