Former Awami League MP BM Mozammel Haque arrested in Niketan
He was arrested around 2:45pm during a raid conducted by a team of the DB Gulshan division, said DMP Deputy Commissioner Talebur Rahman.

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested former Shariatpur-1 lawmaker and Awami League Central Executive Committee Organising Secretary BM Mozammel Haque in the capital's Niketan area this afternoon (5 October).
He was arrested around 2:45pm during a raid conducted by a team of the DB Gulshan division, said DMP Deputy Commissioner Talebur Rahman.
The arrest was made based on a secret tip-off, he added.
Talebur said, BM Mozammel Haque is an accused in eight cases filed in the Dhaka metropolitan area, including a murder case linked to the Student Against Discrimination movement.
"Legal action is in process against the arrested person," DC Talebur said.
Mozammel was elected a member of parliament in the 9th national election held on December 29, 2008, and was re-elected uncontested in the 10th national election in 2014, reports UNB.
