Labour ministry to confer ‘Green Factory Award’ to mark Mujib Year

The Ministry of Labour and Employment is planning to give a "Green Factory Award" to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

The award will be presented on April 28. 

Labour Secretary KM Ali Azam confirmed this at a press conference held at the secretariat on Wednesday.

The ministry has been giving out an occupational health and safety (OSH) award every year. 

The labour and employment ministry has taken preparations for a year-long programme to commemorate Mujib Year. 

State Minister for labour and employment Monnujan Sufian will cut a 100-pound cake in front of the secretariat to celebrate Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's birthday on March 17.  

Afterwards, prizes will be distributed to children at a drawing competition to mark "National Children's Day". 

Furthermore, one hundred orphans will be fed and a milad will be held for Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

The ministry will also hold an international seminar on the life and work of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the secretary added.  

Director General of the Department of Labour AKM Mizanur Rahman, additional secretary Mollah Jalaluddin, Md Rezaul Haque were present at the programme, among others.
