July uprising injured end sit-in after govt assurances on meeting demand
They demand two compensation categories instead of four
The injured protesters and family members of those wounded or killed in the July mass uprising this evening (27 February) withdrew their demonstration in front of the Chief Adviser's Office after receiving assurances that their demands will be met.
Confirming the development, the Officer-in-Charge of Tejgaon Police Station said the government has agreed to fulfill the protesters' demands.
"By evening, the demonstrators had vacated the area," he said last night, adding that the injured returned to their respective hospitals for treatment.

On Wednesday morning, a group of individuals injured during the July uprising launched a sit-in in front of the CA's Office, demanding the government change the number of categories for injured compensation from four to two.
During the protest, Momdel Hossain, who lost his left leg during the movement, said, "We want two categories for injured people, which have now been divided into four."
Currently, each martyr's family receives a savings certificate worth Tk30 lakh. Severely injured individuals under "Category A" receive a one-time payment of Tk5 lakh and a monthly allowance of Tk20,000.
Those with partial disabilities under "Category B" receive a lump sum of Tk3 lakh along with a monthly allowance of Tk15,000. Individuals classified under "Category C" do not receive direct financial aid but are given priority in rehabilitation and employment opportunities.
The protesters have demanded that there be only two categories with those who have permanently lost their ability to work under "Category A" and those who are still able to work under "Category B".
