Hadi murder: Inqilab Mancha calls post-Jummah sit-in near InterContinental
In a post on its official Facebook page today, the platform urged people to gather peacefully and press for accountability.
Inqilab Mancha has called on its leaders and activists to stage a sit-in near InterContinental Dhaka after Jummah prayers this afternoon (6 February), demanding justice for the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi.
In a post on its official Facebook page today, the platform urged people to gather peacefully and press for accountability.
The call follows a sit-in launched yesterday evening (5 February) near the state guest house Jamuna, the official residence of the chief adviser. Protesters have been demanding a United Nations-led investigation into the killing of Hadi, the platform's spokesperson.
As of last night, a section of protesters remained near InterContinental, while another group, including Hadi's wife, was stationed near Jamuna. Police barricades blocked all roads to Jamuna, preventing journalists and the public from entering the area.
In a Facebook update, Inqilab Mancha said that if no assurance comes from Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus regarding a UN probe, students and the public would be asked to gather peacefully in front of Jamuna.
