Injured, displaced, and ignored: CU students rise against administrative failure over violence
The students placed a seven-point demand, including the publication of the complete list of injured students with full treatment facilities, temporary housing, and recovery of belongings for displaced students, and guarantees of their safety.

At Chittagong University (CU), students staged a protest rally and sit-in, demanding the resignation of the proctorial body over what they termed administrative failure in handling the recent clashes between students and local residents.
The demonstration began today (4 September) at 11am from the university's Zero Point, moved along Kata Pahar Road, and culminated in front of the Proctor's office, where the students held their sit-in.
Mosharreful Haque Rakib, publicity and publication secretary of the Revolutionary Students' Unity, said, "Instead of taking responsibility, the administration is trying to divert the issue in another direction. We have united to demand justice and punishment for the culprits. A full list of the injured must be published, and the administration must admit its failure before the entire country."
The organisation's president, Zakir, added, "After the incident, the administration has shown concern only for students admitted to private hospitals, while those in government hospitals are being neglected. Moreover, for students who lost accommodation due to the clashes, the administration must ensure temporary housing facilities."
The students placed a seven-point demand, including the publication of the complete list of injured students with full treatment facilities, temporary housing, and recovery of belongings for displaced students, and guarantees of their safety.
They also sought a fair investigation to bring the offenders to justice while stopping harassment of innocent locals.
Additionally, they called for the formation of a coordination committee, the publication and implementation of the syndicate's decision along with a campus safety roadmap, and, finally, a public apology and resignation of the proctorial body.
