Hult Prize at CU: 'Team Chatushkon' wins by presenting their innovative project
The final round of the programme was held today (22 January) at the university's Faculty of Business Administration Auditorium.
"Team Chatushkon" has become the champion in the final round of the Hult Prize 2025–26 Campus Program at the University of Chittagong.
The team presented an outstanding and innovative project which produces environmentally friendly 'disposable food containers' from sugarcane waste and named this as 'CANEVO.'
Their innovation received the highest evaluation from the judges as it aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12, 13, and 15. CANEVO is a bio-disposable food container made from sugarcane residue.

Sumaiya Zaman, team leader of 'Team Chatushkon' said," CANEVO fully decomposes within just 60 to 90 days after usages, leaving no harmful impact on the environment. It is also capable of reducing carbon emissions.With a strong focus on environmental protection and responsible consumption, CANEVO can be considered a sustainable packaging solution for the future ."
"Through this innovation, Team Chatushkon aims to contribute to building a greener Bangladesh by 2030." she added.
A total of six teams participated in the final round of the competition. 'Team The Optimistic' was selected as the first runner-up, while 'Team Moumachi' secured the position of second runner-up.
Mentionable, each year The Hult Prize sets a global theme aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The theme for the 2025–26 session was "Unlimited," which encourages young people to move forward in search of innovative solutions to global challenges. In this competition, the judging panel evaluates participating teams based on their business ideas, social impact, sustainability, and feasibility of implementation.
