Indian mayor gifts fruits, sweets to Bangladeshi businessmen on occasion of Diwali

On the occasion of Diwali, a Hindu festival, the Mayor of India's Agartala Municipality, Dipak Majumdar, gifted fruits and sweets to Bangladeshi businessmen as a gesture of goodwill.
Around 2:30pm today (14 March), the mayor handed over the gifts at the zero point of the Akhaura International Immigration Checkpost in Brahmanbaria.
Among the Bangladeshi representatives present were Akhaura Land Port C&F Agents Association's Acting President Md Aktar Hossain, businessman Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan, and Import-Export Association's General Secretary Shahnewaz Shanu.
On the Indian side, notable attendees included Debasis Nandi, managing director of Agartala, Srimantapur, and Belonia land ports in Tripura, along with Shri Krishna, General Secretary of the Agartala Land Port Import-Export Association.
According to media reports, through the Akhaura land port, Bangladesh exports approximately Tk1.5 crore worth of goods daily to Agartala. These exports include frozen fish, rods, cement, plastic products, and cotton, among other items.
