Online ticketing service introduced at BMU to reduce patients’ hassles
"Digital automation is essential for advancing healthcare services," said BMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Shahinul Alam
Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) has launched today (29 October) an online ticketing system to reduce patients' suffering, ease overcrowding, and ensure smooth and efficient outpatient services.
From now on, patients can visit the BMU website (bmu.ac.bd), make online payments, print their tickets, and see doctors at the designated time without waiting for hours at the hospital.
The initiative aims to reduce patient suffering, avoid unnecessary crowds, and ensure smooth outdoor medical services.
The system was officially launched today at an event held at Shaheed Dr Milton Hall of the university, where BMU also signed an agreement with Pubali Bank Ltd to facilitate online payments.
BMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Shahinul Alam said the initiative will help make BMU's services more people-centric and efficient.
"We want to bring the waiting time from the hospital to home. Patients will no longer need to stand in long lines," he said, adding that digital automation is essential for advancing healthcare services.
Other speakers, including Pro-VCs, Treasurer, ICT Director, and Pubali Bank's CEO, termed the initiative a milestone that will make medical services more accessible and patient-friendly.
