Measles: Death toll reaches 930 as 2 more children die in 24hrs
So far, 99 people have died from confirmed measles infections and 831 others with measles-like symptoms, bringing the combined death toll to 930.
The health directorate recorded the deaths of two children with measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours preceding 8am today (22 August).
No laboratory-confirmed measles deaths were reported during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
So far, 99 people have died from confirmed measles infections and 831 others with measles-like symptoms, bringing the combined death toll to 930.
During the same 24-hour period, 815 new suspected measles cases were reported, while 65 infections were confirmed through laboratory testing.
Since 15 March, when the DGHS began issuing regular updates, 129,583 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals across the country.
Of them, 125,151 have recovered and returned home, according to DGHS data.
