Five more die of dengue, 1,139 hospitalised in 24 hours
During the same period, 1,139 new patients were admitted to hospitals, raising the total number of dengue cases this year to 84,997, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Five more deaths were reported from dengue in 24 hours till this morning (16 November), raising the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 336 this year.
During the same period, 1,139 new patients were admitted to hospitals, raising the total number of dengue cases this year to 84,997, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The new fatalities were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation, and Mymensingh Division. DGHS data shows that among the 1,139 patients admitted in the last 24 hours, 181 are from Barishal division, 141 from Chattogram, 246 from Dhaka division, with 182 under Dhaka North City Corporation and 118 under Dhaka South City Corporation.
Meanwhile, 119 patients were admitted in Khulna, 96 in Mymensingh, 46 in Rajshahi, 8 in Rangpur, and 1 in Sylhet division. Last year, dengue claimed 575 lives, with 101,214 cases.
