10 more suspected measles deaths, 974 hospitalised in 24 hours
113 suspected measles deaths reported in 21 days
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today (5 April) reported that a total of 17 children have died from confirmed measles infections so far this year, while 113 children have died with suspected measles symptoms.
In the last 24 hours, from 8am yesterday to 8am today, 2 confirmed and 10 suspected measles-related deaths were recorded
During the same period, 974 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals, while 54 cases were confirmed as measles.
According to DGHS data compiled since 15 March, a total of 929 measles cases have been lab-confirmed between 15 March and 5 April.
Over the same period, the number of confirmed deaths has reached 17.
According to the latest health bulletin issued today, a total of 7610 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide, while 3380 patients have already been discharged after receiving treatment.
