Land, Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser AF Hassan Ariff today (18 November) visited the home of Abdullah, a martyr of the July-August uprising, at Boro Achra village under Jashore's Sharsha upazila.

The adviser also offered ziarat at the grave of Abdullah and exchanged views with the local people.

Abdullah, a student of the Political Science department of Shahid Suhrawardi College, suffered critical bullet injuries during the anti-discrimination student movement and succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) on 14 November.

The adviser talked to the family members of Abdullah and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Later, he joined a view exchange meeting near the grave of Abdullah, where he said that the name Abdullah would be remembered as a pioneering hero in the anti-fascism movement. His sacrifice for establishing a democratic and discrimination-free society will be written in golden words, he added.

Deputy Commissioner of Jashore Azaharul Islam, Police Super Ziauddin and Civil Surgeon Mahmudul Hasan were present.
