9 named for Bangla Academy Literary Award
The Executive Council of the academy approved the awards based on recommendations from the nomination committee and the decision of Bangla Academy Literary Award Committee
The Bangla Academy has announced the recipients of the Bangla Academy Literary Award 2025 through a press release issued today (23 February).
The awardees are Mohon Raihan for poetry, Nasima Anis for fiction, Syed Azizul Haque for essays and prose, Hasan Hafiz for children's literature, Ali Ahmad for translation, Mustafa Majid and Israel Khan for research, Farseem Mannan Mohammedy for science writing, and Maidul Hasan for works on the Liberation War.

According to the release, the awards will be formally handed over at the inaugural ceremony of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 on 26 February 2026.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will attend the function as the chief guest and present the awards to the winners.
In the press release, Director General Professor Mohammad Azam said the awards are being conferred in recognition of the recipients' significant contributions to Bangla language and literature. The awardees were selected based on their contributions to literature, research, and knowledge in their respective fields.
