Hall union elections: Shibir dominates men's halls, Gonotantrik Chhatra Sangsad leads in women's halls
Jagannath Hall saw more diverse results: Pallab Chandra Barman (Chhatra Dal) was elected VP, Sudipta Pramanik (Independent) won GS, and Joy Sarkar Dipto (Independent) won AGS.

In hall union elections at Dhaka University held yesterday (9 September), student organisation Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed candidates secured victories in most of the men's halls, while independent and candidates backed by the Bangladesh Gonotantrik Chhatra Sangsad (BGCS) dominated the women's halls.
Results from men's halls
At Sir AF Rahman Hall, Shibir backed Rafiq-ul Islam was elected vice president (VP), Abdullah Al Jubair, also Shibir backed, won the assistant general secretary (AGS) post, while BGCS backed Habib Ullah secured the general secretary (GS) post.
In Haji Muhammad Mohsin Hall, all three top posts went to Shibir-backed candidates: Sadiq Sikder (VP), Rafid Hasan Safwan (GS), and Abdul Majid (AGS).
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall saw a clean sweep by Shibir-backed candidates: Md Muslemur Rahman (VP), Ahmed Al Sabah (GS), and Mushfiq Tajwar Mahir (AGS).
At Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haq Hall, Ahsan Habib Imroz (Shibir) won the VP post, Khaled Hossain (BGCS) won GS, and Farhaz Bin Nur Nishat (Independent) won AGS.
In Surja Sen Hall, Azizul Haque (Independent) was elected VP, while Mokhlesur Rahman Jabir (Shibir) and Md Riajuddin Sakib (Shibir) were elected GS and AGS respectively.
Bijoy 71 Hall was dominated by Shibir-backed candidates as well with Hasan Al Bannah (VP), Ashiq Billah (GS), and Ahmed Al Sabah (AGS).
At Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall, Md Mohiuddin (Independent) won the VP post, while Asif Imam (Shibir) and Md Fozayel Ahmed (Shibir) won GS and AGS respectively.
All three top positions at Kabi Jasimuddin Hall went to Shibir-backed candidates, Muhammad Osman Gani (VP), Masum Abdullah (GS), and Hizbullah Al Hijul (AGS).

At Amar Ekushey Hall, all three posts went to Shibir candidates—Md Rabiul Islam (VP), Md Rabiul Islam (GS), and Ubaidur Rahman Hasib (AGS).
Salimullah Muslim Hall produced mixed results, with Md Zayedul Haque Zayed (Shibir) elected VP, Sadman Abdullah (Chhatra Adhikar) as GS, and Shahin Alam (Shibir) as AGS.
In Dr Muhammad Shahidullah Hall, all three key posts were won by Shibir-backed candidates: Tarekul Islam Tarek (VP), Taufiq Hasan (GS), and Ibrahim Khalil (AGS).
Similarly, at Fazlul Huq Muslim Hall, Shibir candidates swept the board: Khondkar Md Abu Nayeem (VP), Imam-ul Hasan (GS), and Mohsin Shafi (AGS).
Results from women's halls
In contrast, women's halls largely favoured independent and BGCS candidates.
At Shamsunnahar Hall, Kurratul Ain Kaniz (Independent) won VP, Samia Masud Momo (BGCS) GS, and Nure Jannat Sujana (Independent) AGS.
Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall elected Tasnim Akter Alif Nabila (VP), Miftahul Jannat Rifat (GS), and Rupa Akter (AGS), though their organisational affiliations could not be confirmed.
At Rokeya Hall, Fatematuz Zannat Ima (Independent) was elected VP, Cynthia Mehrin Sokal (BGCS) GS, and Adiba Saima Khan (BGCS) AGS.
Kuwait Maitree Hall saw all three posts go to BGCS candidates: Rafia Rahman Hridi (VP), Nishita Jaman Niha (GS), and Tanzina Tamim Hafsa (AGS).
At Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall, Sanjana Chowdhury Ratri (Independent) was elected VP, while Ruku Khatun (BGCS) and Shimu Akter (BGCS) secured the GS and AGS positions, respectively.
