Practice of healthy competition will build strong foundation for future leadership: Nahid Islam on Ducsu polls
He further expressed hope that Ducsu will become a genuine platform to realise the aspirations and dreams of students.

National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has congratulated all newly elected leaders of Dhaka University's central students' union (Ducsu) and hall unions, saying that the practice of healthy competition will lay a strong foundation for future leadership.
In a Facebook post from his official page at 11:45pm yesterday (10 September), he extended best wishes not only to the winners but also to those who contested and could not secure victory.
"The students have had the opportunity to choose their representatives through a participatory and competitive election—this is a positive step forward for our democratic practice," Nahid wrote.
He further expressed hope that Ducsu will become a genuine platform to realise the aspirations and dreams of students.
He emphasised that the newly elected Ducsu leaders should work towards establishing a democratic, academic, and "terror- fascism-free" environment on campus.
The NCP leader also stressed that Ducsu elections should continue regularly.
"Regular student union elections should be held in all universities and colleges soon, so that the youth of Bangladesh can play their role in practicing democracy and national reconstruction," he added.
