Hadi’s murder: Gono Odhikar Parishad calls for Indian mission siege in Sylhet
A press release issued this morning, the Sylhet district unit of the Gono Odhikar Parishad announced that a protest march will be held after the Jummah prayers, demanding justice for Hadi’s killing and capital punishment for what it described as “Awami League terrorists.”
The Gono Odhikar Parishad today (19 December) called for a protest march and the besieging of the Indian Assistant High Commission in Sylhet following the death of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson for Inqilab Manch and an aspiring candidate for Dhaka-8.
In a press release issued this morning, the Sylhet district unit of the Gono Odhikar Parishad announced that a protest march will be held after the Jummah prayers, demanding justice for Hadi's killing and capital punishment for what it described as "Awami League terrorists."
The party described Hadi as a "vanguard in the struggle against Indian hegemony" and said the protest will also be held in opposition to what it termed Indian dominance in Bangladesh.
According to the announcement, protesters will gather at the Kudrat Ullah Jame Mosque in the city's Bandar Bazar area and begin marching immediately after Jummah prayers, with plans to besiege the Indian Assistant High Commission in Sylhet.
