Hadi murder: Govt will write to UN on 8 Feb seeking probe options
“The government is clearly reiterating its firm commitment to ensure justice in the murder of martyr Sharif Osman Hadi.
The interim government has announced that it will formally write to the relevant United Nations agency on Sunday (8 February) regarding possible investigation mechanisms into the murder of martyr Sharif Osman Hadi.
According to a Facebook post from the Chief Adviser GOB today (6 February), the government said it remains firmly committed to ensuring justice in the killing of Hadi and is carefully reviewing the legal aspects of conducting an investigation under the United Nations.
"The government is clearly reiterating its firm commitment to ensure justice in the murder of martyr Sharif Osman Hadi.
The government is conducting an in-depth review of the legal aspects of carrying out an investigation under the United Nations, and an official letter will be sent to the relevant UN agency on Sunday (8 February)," the post read.
The announcement comes amid ongoing protests by activists of Inqilab Mancha, who have been demanding a United Nations–led investigation into Hadi's killing.
