Grave of Sharif Osman Hadi prepared beside Kazi Nazrul Islam's tomb at DU
His funeral prayer will be held at 2pm at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad.
Preparations for the burial of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi began this morning (20 December) beside the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, near the Dhaka University Central Mosque.
The grave-digging started around 11:30am.
Dhaka University Assistant Proctor Rafiqul Islam told The Business Standard that Hadi will be buried on the south side of Kazi Nazrul Islam's grave, in the second slot on the east side along the central mosque.
By noon, a crowd of members of the public and media personnel had gathered near the site. However, only those authorised by the university were being allowed inside the burial area.
DMP Ramna Division Deputy Commissioner Masud Alam, Dhaka University Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, and Dhaka University Central Students' Union General Secretary SM Farhad were present at the spot.
Earlier, the post-mortem examination of Hadi was completed at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital.

Hadi's body was brought back from Singapore yesterday (19 December). He had sustained critical injuries in a gun attack in Dhaka on 12 December and later died at Singapore General Hospital on Thursday night (18 December).
Following news of his death, protests broke out in parts of Dhaka and several other districts late Thursday night, with demonstrations continuing into the early hours of today.
