Fire breaks out at Banani apartment

A fire broke out in a six-storey building in the city's Banani today (22 May).
Fire Service and Civil Defence officials said the fire started around 5:55am in a flat on the 2nd floor of a 6-storey building in the area.
Being informed, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control by 7:10am, the duty officer of Fire Service headquarters Khaleda Yasmin told UNB.
The fire was reportedly caused due to an electrical short circuit.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
