Rain, thunderstorm likely in all divisions in next 24 hrs: BMD

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes in all divisions, including Dhaka of the country in 24 hours commencing 9am today (16 May).
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," said a met office update.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to the BMD.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the districts of Noakhali, Feni, Patuakhali, Cox's Bazar,Lakshmipur and Bandarban and it may abate from some places.
The country's highest temperature 37.6 degree Celsius was recorded in Satkhira and Jashore over the past 24 hours till 6pm on yesterday while the lowest temperature 22 degree Celsius was recorded in Dimla of Nilphamari till 6am today.
A trough of westerly low lies over West Bengal to North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh.
