Dhaka South to double insecticide spraying to prevent Aedes
Every day, 60 litres of insecticide will be sprayed by fogger machines in DSCC areas to prevent the spread of Dengue-carrying Aedes mosquitoes immediately.

The Dhaka South City Corporation authority has decided to increase the volume of applying insecticide to 60 litres from 30 litres from 14 June to prevent the spread of Aedes mosquitoes.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the WASA building here today with Dhaka South Administrator Md Shahjahan Mia in the chair.
The meeting came up with the decision that every day, 60 litres of insecticide will be sprayed by fogger machines in the Dhaka South areas to prevent the spread of Dengue-carrying Aedes mosquitoes immediately.
The meeting also decided to form local dengue monitoring teams to ensure proper management and take initiatives to fill the manpower shortage.
The monitoring teams are tasked to ensure the regular presence of workers in the morning and afternoon, verify the application of pesticides in the right proportion, operate mobile courts, and ensure the cleanliness of the inside of houses, courtyards and roofs, including stagnant water.
Regional executive officer has been made the convener, and the assistant health officer has been made the member secretary, respectively, of the team.
Dhaka South Assistant Health Officer Dr Faria Faiz was nominated as the focal point officer on dengue and coronavirus.
As per the decision of the meeting, a seminar on dengue control will be held at Nagar Bhaban by the end of this month with the participation of entomologists. Updated information on daily dengue patients will also be published on the DSCC website to increase public awareness of preventing dengue and Covid-19.
Dhaka South Chief Executive Officer Dr Md Zillur Rahman, Secretary Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, Chief Waste Management Officer Air Commodore Md Mahabubur Rahman Talukder, Chief Health Officer Dr Nishat Parveen and other respective officials were present in the meeting, among others.
