Eight suffer burn injuries in Chattogram shoe factory blaze
Three of the injured were admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment.
A fire broke out at a shoe factory in the Madarbari area of Chattogram today (13 February), leaving eight workers injured.
The blaze broke out around 3pm, according to the Fire Service and Civil Defence control room in Chattogram.
Eight firefighting units were dispatched immediately, bringing the fire under control after nearly two hours.
Three of the injured were admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the cause of the fire and the full extent of the damage could not be immediately determined.
Jasim Uddin, deputy director of Agrabad Fire Service, said firefighters reached the site shortly after Jummah prayers and worked under challenging conditions.
"Three people were trapped inside the six-storey factory building. We rescued all three alive. Dense surroundings made firefighting difficult, but the blaze is now under control," he added.
