Southeast University (SEU) observed Martyred Intellectuals Day with due solemnity on the campus.

An online discussion program was held at 11:30am with Adviser to Board of Trustees (BoT), SEU Trust, Prof. Dr ANM Meshquat Uddin in the chair on Tuesday, said a press release.  

Prof. Shamsuzzaman Khan, Bangabandhu Chair Professor, Islamic University and  Chairman, Bangla Academy and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Samad, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Dhaka & Chairman, Jatiya Kobita Parishad addressed in the programme.

They said, Intellectuals guided the nation during the Liberation War.

"We will have to put as much history as possible in the textbooks in order to keep the memories of the martyrs alive among the new generations," they said.

SEU School of Arts & Social Sciences Dean Prof. Dr MA Hakim delivered the welcome speech.

Among others, members of BoT, registrar, deans, chairmen, faculty members, officials and students attended the programme.
