SEU showcases student research at Student Research Day 2025
The Institute of Research and Training (IRT) of Southeast University (SEU) organised Student Research Day 2025 on 28 December, showcasing the research work and innovative ideas of its students.
A total of 55 students from different departments presented their research findings, covering a wide range of topics and reflecting their engagement in scholarly inquiry and problem-solving.
The programme began with welcoming remarks by Prof Dr Md Mofazzal Hossain, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University. Dr Samina Ahmed, Chairman of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR), attended the event as chief guest, while Dr Syed Saad Andaleeb, Professor Emeritus at Pennsylvania State University, was present as special guest. The programme was chaired by Prof Dr Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice-Chancellor of Southeast University.
The student presentations were evaluated by a panel of judges comprising Dr Ahmed Hossain, Associate Professor at the University of Sharjah; Dr Md Enamul Haque, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Dhaka; Tahmina Ahmed, Professor of the Department of English at the University of Dhaka; and Dr Md Abdullah Al Mamun, Additional Chief Engineer at the Roads and Highways Department.
Md Nafees Imtiaz (Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering), Sajed Ahamed Rifat (Department of Pharmacy), and Shanjida Akter Preety (Department of English) were selected as the top oral presenters. Mohammad Farhan Tanvir (Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering), Anamika Akter Omi (Department of English), and Md Abdur Rahman (Department of Computer Science and Engineering) were named top poster presenters.
Dr Hasnat M Alamgir, Professor and Director of the Institute of Research and Training, expressed gratitude to the organisers and volunteers for their efforts in making the event successful.
SEU stated that Student Research Day 2025 reflects the university's commitment to promoting research excellence and innovation among students.
