IUBAT inaugurates 30th foundation anniversary celebration

International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) inaugurated monthlong celebration of 30th Foundation Anniversary on January 16 at its permanent campus in Uttara through flamboyant programs.
The celebration began with hoisting flags and placing floral tribute at the grave of its founder, said a press release.
Initiated in 1989 and established in 1991, IUBAT is the first private university of Bangladesh founded by Professor Dr M Alimullah Miyan, the then Professor and Director of IBA, Dhaka University.
The 20 bigha river-view campus of the university is only of its kind in Uttara surrounded by lush greeneries, the press release added.
Chairman Zubier Alim and Vice-Chancellor Abdur Rab have conveyed greetings to all concerned on this occasion.
A discussion was held with the Vice-Chancellor in the chair. Pro VC Prof Dr Hamida Akhtar Begum, Registrar Prof Md Lutfar Rahman and others spoke on the occasion highlighting memories of Dr Miyan and IUBAT's contribution to higher education.
The university has been colorfully decorated and illuminated on this occasion. The celebration will continue until February 14, the press release reads.
IUBAT is the first university to introduce BBA and BATHM programs in Bangladesh, and is the first university to introduce agriculture, nursing and mechanical engineering degrees in the private sector of Bangladesh, the press release claimed.
Presently 11 departments of IUBAT under 6 colleges are offering higher education to thousands of students, the press release further said.
