Israfil Ratan appointed DU acting proctor
The vice-chancellor has appointed Israfil Ratan as acting proctor with effect from today until further notice
University of Dhaka has appointed Israfil Ratan as the acting proctor of the university.
The information was confirmed in a notice issued today (10 May), signed by the university's Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed.
Ratan, an associate professor in the Department of Graphic Design under the Faculty of Fine Arts, previously served as an assistant proctor of the university.

According to the notice, the vice-chancellor has appointed Israfil Ratan as acting proctor with effect from today until further notice.
He will be entitled to allowances and benefits as per university rules. The appointment may be revoked at any time in the greater interest of the university, it said.
Earlier in the day, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed submitted his resignation letter to the vice-chancellor, citing "personal" reasons.
